Book Two Quote Three 

During the walk, Paul tosses pebbles into the eager air and we watch them splash into the White River, just over the bank, the puddles filtering out and fading. We stand, listening to the deeper water moving downstream, and the gushing sound bringing me back to the house that he said he would design and have built for us.
